- Work Experience:A minimum of 5 years of cumulative work experience in information security management is required.
- Required Experience:At least 3 years of this experience must be in three or more of the four CISM domains: 1. Information Security Governance 2. Information Risk Management 3. Information Security Program Development and Management 4. Information Security Incident Management
- Experience Waivers: Up to two years of work experience may be credited towards education as follows: • Possessing a master’s degree in information security or related areas; • Holding any other relevant degree at a master’s level.
- CISM Certification Exam: All persons are free to take the CISM examination, although work experience is mandatory for certification.
